Things To Consider When Selecting A Gas Rewards Card

There are a number of things you should consider when selecting just the right gas rebate credit card to suit your needs. You’ll naturally want select a card for a station that is easy for you to frequent. It should be conveniently located near or between your home and/or work.

You’ll also want to think about your spending habits. Choose a card that will give you the most rewards for the things that you purchase most often. Consider the reward rates that various cards offer on non-gas spending. This is typically about 1%, so you would probably get better rewards on these kinds of purchases by using a general-purpose rewards card.

The best way to manage using gas rewards cards for gas spending is to have one specific card for gas purchases that you can pay off in full every month. In this way, you can avoid paying high interest rates on a consumable product. Use general-purpose rewards card for other types of spending. However, you may also consider other auto care credit cards such as the Firestone credit card which allows you to pay for your auto repairs for up to 6 months without interest.

Keep the APR and annual fees in mind. While many gas station credit cards do not charge an annual fee, they typically charge higher annual percentage rates. If you’re not able to pay your balance in full every month, you might even be better off using a different type of card for gas that doesn’t offer rewards and does have a lower annual percentage rate. This is something you will want to think through very carefully.
